As a rectangle type figure, I am a big fan of belts to help define my shape. Over the years I have collected a few statement belts that I wear time to time to finish off an outfit with a little bit of flare and uniqueness. I love statement pieces. I’m attracted to unique, artistic, one-of-a-kind feeling they give to you. And if there’s one accessory that just screams #GirlBoss, it’s a wide, head-turning statement belt around the waist. Because a bold belt means business. It sends a message of don’t-mess-with-me confidence and can elevate a look from simple to impactful in just one step. And while a standard black or brown version should do the trick, if you want to take the styling one step further, I suggest opting for something unique.
For my look today, I wanted to go for a super simple outfit though I do think this would look good with a dress too. I dressed up a skin-hugging bodysuit and black jeans with a belt to take it from casual to put together. It feels sexy yet modern and adding this sleek black silk belt in between only adds a dose of bad-ass sophistication. It makes the two pieces come together as one, and creates a flattering, structured effect. And as I had very limited time this morning to decide on the bag to go together with my #ootd, I simply layered small belt bag under my belt. First saw belts being layered last year in one of the shows and I instantly wanted to try it myself. Actually, I really like the way it came out.
Statement belts make a statement on their own, and best believe that when you put them on, everyone will be watching. And even if you are short waisted like me, do not let fashion rules determine what you can and cannot wear. Wear those belts! Tuck those shirts in! Find a way to make the body that does so much for you feel like something special and fabulous and not something you need to hide, change or try to mask.
What do you think of the statement belts making a comeback? have you found yourself warming up to the idea of sporting one? I want to know what you think!
Why be moody when you can shake that booty? Yeah, fringe clothing makes us want to do just that: even if we don’t want to, fringes create the kind of movement that grabs attention, and that is just infectious. Don’t you just want to dance too when wearing fringes? Whether it’s a dress or just a bag, my tip is just to try and see.
Thank you for reading!
Does fringe inspires you?
Wearing gold has been a sign of decadence, class, and wealth for many centuries, while still holding true against the test of time.
There’s such a variety of shades, styles, and choices available. And even if you are like me so pale that yellow gold tends to wash out my skin and make me look sallow. Even so there are still lots of fantastic ways to wear gold. Just play around with different variations and find something that complements your skin tone, your hair, or the color of your eyes. For instance, keep it light by choosing a pretty, frosty champagne, or go more toward bronze if you prefer darker colors. You might just find a new favorite color!
Gold isn’t just related to jewelry in the world of fashion – you can definitely give the tricky color a spin in proper wardrobe pieces for an added royal effect. Gold fabric can be distracting and, under unfortunate situations, a little tacky if not styled right. The color adapts itself to the fabric it’s matched with. If you want to give a golden style a try, be sure to keep the whole outfit on the golden radar, but don’t try to mix too many colors, as the rule is making the outfit all about gold.
There are some fashion trends that even the most style adept has trouble mastering with total confidence — like socks with sandals or double bags or candy-colored faux fur. But, there’s one recent trend that can be especially challenging: the print-on-print-on-print trend, which combines two or more patterns to exaggerate effect.
But, as we know, like keeping track of how many drinks you have had, limiting the number of prints in one outfit is no fun at all.
There is one in particular print mix which catches my eye and seemed impossible in the beginning: mixed bouquet print and polka dots.
Mixed bouquet may sound a bit like a weird idea for the outfit, but honestly, this spring 2018 print trend showed up as a combination and makeover of springtime typical prints. These types of pieces feel like they are not for people with limited imaginations at all. But you don’t have to have a stylist’s eye to pull off this kind tricky look. All you need is try to put together pieces from your wardrobe which seems to be impossible together to find your crazy perfect match — and a lot of attitude — and you’ll be mixing and matching spring’s best florals, dots, and stripes in no time.
This mix print is definitely on the tip of the tongue for the spring 2018 print trends for originality and beautiful composition and coordination. So, go on have fun! And make your own outfit ikebana.
Here is what we are dealing in Shanghai with every year in spring! No chance to plan an outfit in advance. But!! In 1 week you can literally show all your wardrobe for any season ))))
